Hiiii Sauwcy, thank you so much for being part of the Music Rush. Let’s get into it shall we? Tell me, what initially inspired you to write your latest single?

– I really wanted to represent my culture in some way through my music so I thought why not infuse my love for hiphop and my culture, so that’s pretty much how BANGLADESH played out

Intriguing title. Can you describe the narrative or concept behind the song’s lyrics?

– So the concept behind the song is that my music and sound BANGS, it’ll always be catchy and always filled with bars and I really am that girl when it comes to Rap. This was another song of me claiming who I am fully.

How does this single differ from your previous work in terms of style or theme?

– This was my first drill song so it was important for me to really kill it and outdo my own standards, and then adding the Indian sample to it just made even more unique.

We love a unique reference. Were there any significant challenges or breakthroughs during the production?

– I think just one, which was finding a way to sample the song without the original beat lol. The sample on its own wasn’t available anywhere so we really had to use our heads to figure out, that’s where JILLZ ( the producer of the song) played a huuuge role. I had the idea and he executed perfectly.

I know you to have a couple of features. Can you discuss any notable collaborations for this single?

– Already having myself and JILLZ on this song was so amazing, if I ever have to do a remix it would need to be someone big, I believe the song deserves that.

A lot of our readers love getting into an artists heart and mind. What do you hope listeners will feel or understand from this song?

– I hope that they can see that, as an Indian female in the SA rap game I really am pushing and breaking so many boundaries and I’m just as good as the best. I’m truly one of a kind for the SA industry and I always want my listeners to be apart of my making history.

Beautiful. Which emotions or experiences did you aim to express with this release?

– Really a lot of confidence and authenticity… especially this being the first time I’ve incorporated my culture into my work.

I can already hear the track playing as you’re letting us in on it. Did you incorporate any new techniques or musical elements in this single?

– Of couuuurse, I’ve had the urge to incorporate my culture into my music for so long so using the Indian sample, and one that the whole world knows lol was definitely a new element to my music.

How important is visual art in representing the message of this song, if applicable?

– If I do drop a music video for BANGLADESH, showcasing my culture would be of utmost importance. The whole concept of the song stemmed from that so the visual message would have to be in line with that. I think it’s time we grow some appreciation for Indian women in the rap game.

I’ll be here as a video vixen should you decide to give us visuals **giggles** . How did your personal journey or experiences shape the creation of this piece?

– I think I’ve always strayed away from representing my culture in my art because I was always a modern girly.. but as I grew as a person and in my craft I realized how important it was to become a figure of representation especially because I didn’t have any. It’s so rare to find Indians in the music industry let alone a female rapper.. I knew I had to do my part in inspiring more of us. BANGLADESH was the beginning of that.

Thank you so much for an amazing interview and we are wishing you success with your single.
