Heeeeey Betty Brown, I’m so excited to do this interview with you, thank you so much for sharing yourself and music with us. What was the defining moment that made you realize music was your calling?

I don’t think there was just one moment, it was more like a series of little confirmations. But I’d say the first time I wrote a song that truly felt like me was when I knew I couldn’t do anything else. Music has always been how I process things, so realizing people connected with what I was saying just solidified that this is what I’m meant to do.

That’s beautiful to hear. How has your creative process evolved since your first release?

I trust myself more now. When I first started, I second guessed everything, but over time, I’ve learned to let the music lead. I experiment more, play around with textures and layers, and let things be imperfect if they feel right. I’ve also gotten better at translating emotions into sound instead of overthinking the technical side. I evolve everyday.

Purrr. If you could describe your single in three words, what would they be?

Raw, nostalgic, real.

What’s a hidden or unexpected inspiration behind your latest project?

Silence. I spent a lot of time just sitting in quiet spaces, listening to my own thoughts, and letting them shape the music. Also, the little moments , random conversations, things people say without realizing how deep they are. Those always find their way into my lyrics.

How do you balance staying true to your signature sound while experimenting with new styles?

I let the emotion guide me. My voice and the way I approach melodies naturally tie everything together, so even when I try something new, it still feels like me. I never want to box myself in, but I also don’t force anything that doesn’t feel genuine.

We love vulnerability in this house. What’s one misconception people have about your music orartistry?

That it’s just one thing. People hear one song and assume that’s my entire vibe, but my music reflects different versions of me. It shifts depending on what I’m going through or what I want to express at that moment.

How do you navigate creative blocks or moments of doubt in your career?

I step away. Forcing it never works for me, so I let myself live a little watch movies, go outside, talk to people, my family . Sometimes creativity comes back in the most random ways. I also remind myself why I started. When doubt creeps in, I go back to making music just for me again.

That is so profound. Have your fans ever influenced the direction of your music? If so, how?

Definitely. When people tell me how a song made them feel or what they connected with, it makes me more intentional about what I say next. It’s never about chasing trends ,it’s more about realizing how universal some emotions are and wanting to tap into that even more.

What’s a dream collaboration that you feel would challenge or elevate your sound?

There are so many, but I’d love to work with someone who completely flips the way I think about music maybe a producer or artist who creates in a way I haven’t explored yet. Someone who’d push me out of my comfort zone but still let me be me.

Okay lastly, How do you want your music to be remembered in the industry?

As something felt. I want my music to be the kind that sticks with people, whether it’s a lyric that hits them at the right time or a sound that brings back a memory years later. More than anything, I want it to be honest and timeless.

Thank you so much, I’m totally a fan of your music and I’m wishing you all the best in your career.
