SAMPRA Powers Gigi Lamayne’s Global Dancefloor Debut at ADE

The SAMPRA Development Fund in collaboration with Africa Rising Music Conference and Paradise Sound System is proud to support one of Africa’s most exciting music exports, Gigi Lamayne, as she launches her Afro House and 3-Step journey with EMOYENI — a powerful collaboration with PeeKay Mzee, Nokwazi, and SUPTA featuring Professor Kalawa. Blending township-rooted rhythms with futuristic soundscapes, the track captures the bold spirit of her upcoming EP I’m Not A DJ — a project where Gigi redefines her artistry beyond rap and embraces the dancefloor.

The single made a strong impact on release day, receiving notable support across major online stores, including a cover feature from Audiomack and multiple playlist placements — a testament to Gigi’s growing presence in the global dance scene.

Releasing on 10 October 2025 via Paradise Sound System, I’m Not A DJ is a live electronic EP that fuses rap, DJing, and performance into a singular, immersive experience. It represents Gigi’s most daring work to date and cements her as one of Africa’s leading forces in music innovation.

This milestone marks the third collaboration between the SAMPRA Development Fund, Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC), and Paradise Sound System, continuing their joint mission to build sustainable bridges for South African music talent to access international stages and audiences.

“SAMPRA is deeply committed to investing in South African artists who are ready to take their music global,” says Pfanani Lishivha, CEO of SAMPRA. “Gigi Lamayne represents the bold, innovative spirit of our music scene, and we are proud to support her as she steps onto the ADE stage and brings a distinctly South African sound to an international audience.”

With over a decade of accolades, Gigi Lamayne is a ten-time award-winning artist, most recently crowned Best Hip Hop Artist at the 2025 Basadi in Music Awards and Best Female Artist at the SA Hip Hop Awards. Known for her lyrical dexterity, commanding stage presence, and fluid movement across genres, Gigi has captivated audiences across the UK, USA, Nigeria, and Lesotho.

At Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) 2025, taking place 22–26 October, Gigi will represent South Africa on some of ADE’s key stages and industry platforms. Her schedule includes:

  • The AFEM Annual Mixer in collaboration with Paradise Worldwide and DJ Monitor powered by KUVO
  • The Africa House Mixer, hosted by SAMPRA and Paradise Sound System
  • Audiomack Presents: Africa’s Streaming Boom – A Global Strategy panel (25 October) alongside DBN Gogo, Charlotte Bwana (VP, Marketing – Audiomack), and Felix de Jong (Senior Marketing Manager, Audiomack)

Following ADE, Gigi will head to Berlin for collaborative studio sessions with European producers, continuing to expand her global sound palette.

Thanks to the SAMPRA Development Fund’s investment, Gigi Lamayne is not only breaking new creative ground but also showcasing South African music innovation on one of the world’s biggest electronic music stages. With this fearless new vision, she is poised to inspire and represent Africa’s evolving music landscape on a global scale.
