This year we are proud to announce our collaboration with the
Dutch Music Export Office as we work towards our May 22 edition of ARMC. Below you will find the English version of the call out which recently went live to all Dutch Music Professionals.

Trade delegation and HipHop/R&B showcase South Africa 2022.

In recent years, no continent has influenced popular music as much as Africa. In addition, South African music such as Amapiano is increasingly finding its way to European clubs. That is why Dutch Music Export and Africa Rising Music Conference (ARMC) are joining forces.

From 23 to 25 May 2022 ARMC will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa. DME enables 15 Dutch music professionals to participate in a trade delegation to the event. In addition, four Dutch HipHop/R&B artists are invited by ARMC to perform during the event.

Trade delegation
The delegation is aimed at Dutch HipHop and R&B professionals who (mainly) represent the repertoire of Dutch artists. Hotel stays and program are provided by Dutch Music Export. However, each participant must pay for his or her own flight.

HipHop/R&B Showcase
Four Dutch artists will be invited to play a showcase during the event. The line-up is put together in collaboration with the ARMC organization. Dutch Music Export contributes a maximum of 1,500 euros to travel and accommodation costs per act. You can register until March 1.

Continuation of the journey
After the conference, the delegation will travel by bus to the MTN Bushfire festival, which will take place from 26 to 29 May in Swaziland. A special network program is organized here to further introduce the Dutch delegates to the African music scene.

Some of the Dutch artists will also be invited to play a showcase at MTN Bushfire and Bassline Africa Day. The two festivals are part of the Igoda Circuit.

“Igoda is a unique and innovative concept that brings together the finest music festivals within Southern Africa to create one of the first touring circuits on the African continent. Igoda is a partnership born out of the Firefest Route encompassing festivals from Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa and Reunion Island. The circuit presents an incredible opportunity for artists and fans to travel across Southern Africa, celebrating music and participating and strengthening the region’s interconnected creative economies.”
